Mark VI

did the Mark VI have a year that was specifically the best? curious about Mark VI alto.......

    The popular opinion seems to be that the '54-'58 horns were the best of the best, with '59 through early '60's still being great horns, then as the years go on the quality slows goes out the window bit by bit. My opinion is, don't even look at the serial number. Play the horn, see if you like it.

    I have to agree with your comment about getting the one you like. The only thing i would say is to try one that was assembled in france. Alot of them were sent here then assembled. They seem to be better that theones assembled in the USA.
