C melody mouth piece help

I heard there are C melody mouth pieces but you can use a alto or a tenor mouth piece. Which one will produce a better sound or does it even matter?

There are some modern C-mel mouthpieces available for reasonable money. Runyon, Beechler & Morgan to name a few. I have a Runyon that sounds great. BTW, they use tenor reeds. Check out cybersax.com Bear has some good C-mel info on his site.
