    With that tip opening, I wouldn't go any softer than a 3, but I would probably recommend a 3.5 . . . I played a metal Link 6 for years and at one point used Plasticovers on it for a month or two. If I recall correctly, the cut of reed that worked best for me with that setup was a Rico Royal . . .
