I inherited an alto and was wondering about it

I inherited an alto from my grandfather when I started playing about 10 years ago and was wondering if anyone out there knows anything about this kind of horn. The engraving only said American on it and was produced in Elkhart, but other than that there isn't much else.

Send me some pictures and I will take a look. Is there a serial number or patent number on the back near the thumbrest? My guess is that it is either a Conn or Buescher stencil made in the 1920's. It could be possibly be a Martin horn also. A little more information is needed though.

The sn on it is 4252 and the patd date is Sept. 14, 1914. I don't have any way to get pics yet since I have very limited internet access at the moment, but I will send some as soon as I have the chance.
