Looking for a new pro sax

Hello, my friend is looking for a new saxophone. He's been playing on a Selmer Super Action 80 Series II for the last two years and needs to get a new sax for college. He is looking at buying a NEW horn and possibly the Selmer Reference 54. What other advice can I offer him?

    try a lot of saxes before he makes a choice. i tryed about 5 before i found the one. i play the selmer ref. 36. i like it much better than the 54.
