Help identifying a tenor saxophone?

I have an old tenor saxophone (at least 30 years old) that was my father's, I've been trying to figure out the brand, but all it has an engraved design - that looks art deco, it was made in germany, and has serial number (40629). Wondering if anyone is able to tell what make it is from the design? Haven't had any luck searching images online.

First, the picture provided tells the community nothing. The key structure is what is needed not the engraving.

BUT, the engraving looks like it may be a Kohlert from the 1950s. They were in Germany.

If you provide pictures that show the key mechanisms you may get more knowlege.

    Good Luck

Thanks! I'll look into Kohlert, in the meantime, here are some images with the keys.

      cheers!

Does it say "Germany" or "West Germany?"

That makes it post-1989.  My best guess is that it was made by the formerly East German operation that produced Weltklang and some European stencil horns.  The other German manufacturers in the stencil business were gone by that point.

Hmmm, it was bought before 1985, so it more likely means it's pre-wall.

Probably made in East Germany then, which would still be the Weltklang operation.  You could do an image search for Weltklang if you wanted to verify that.
