Trying to balance tone - whats a darker mouthpiece?

Hey, seeing that I play on a Guardala, I have quite a bright and sometimes obnoxious (agh can't spell it) tone. I want to balance it with a darker sounding mouthpiece, any suggestions?

How dark do you want to go? A Link will get you there, a Jody Jazz HR* will REALLY get you there, you can vary your reed brand and strength, your ligature, lots of variables to play with (no pun intended). It depends on what you're looking for. I had an old Meyer Tru-Flex and a Gale that were pretty groovy dark pieces. The important thing is to have fun with your search.

Ok, thanks for that. For further info, I'm playing on 3.5 Java reeds (which i am very happy with) and I'm kindof going for a tone like Chris Potter's. I switched to a rubber mouthpiece and my tone has become darker, yet some of the high notes are a bit bright. I'll try the Jody Jazz Hr*, thanks Francis Sean

A Doc Tenney modified HR Link would probably do the trick, as well as a Morgan Excaliber
