I am unable to reply to any post. At any rate, I will try to anawer here. The selmer goldentone mouthpiece is an entry level mouthpiece. I recommend the old C * soloist if you can find one. Ligatures are not that big of a deal. Kristy will tell you that there are no magic ligatures out there. The MK VI tenor with a high F# does not play as true as those without it. The Ref 54 was designed for the high F# and it plays true. I have three MK VI's and I pretty much know what they will and won't do. The Mk VI bari needs a lot of AIR !!!!! Blow through the horn. Visualize how far that air has to travel to hit those low notes. The mouthpiece is not that critical on a bari. I played a session with a bass clarinet mouthpiece, and it worked OK.
