Selmer clone?

I picked up an alto with no markings other than a ser# which is 902036 that is stamped vertically along the tube.. The spat keys are almost identical to my '56 MKVI alto. All the adjustment hardware f/f# , Low B, set screws and levers as well as the octave mechanism are also identical. There is no engraving on the bell that I can see. It is still pretty grimy and parts where lacquer has worn off has been painted with gold paint. In the rough shape that it is in it feels much the same ergonomically as my MKVI. I don't have much experience with Chinese horns, is this one? Anybody know? Anybody know how to tell for sure of copies/clones?
