Re: Classic mouthpeice for cannonball madmeg tenor
The stuffiness might be from the resistance that is found on mouthpieces with smaller tip opening. To me, a Larsen 95 and a 4R is a huge difference. The stuffiness might go away with time, but my crystal ball is broken. Trying different cuts of reeds and strengths might also help. More importantly, I would suggest that you find something and stick with it. Once you have a foundation for playing a more classical/legit setup it will give you a better idea of what you are looking for and how to remedy it.
