problem with s. shank mpc

anybody knows how to deal with the short shank of the short shank soloist? when its on the neck only a very short part of the cork is covered by the mpc, otherwise the tuning goes sharp. but the cork can't hold the mpc properly this way, and its natural tendency to shrink only makes the mouthpiece more unstable - its actually moving up and down when i play. and this is a new cork, changing it will only prosponed the problem for a while.
