Question on a King Alto Saxophone

Saw another saxophone. This is an alto that has engraved on it " KING MADE BY THE H.N. WHITE CO. CLVD. O. Nothing else on the bell. Back of the horn is stamped, " NO 154911 PATD.8-18-25 99736 " No other markings on the horn. Would this be considered a student or a professional saxophone? What would be an appropriate price range (going from fair to excellent condition)? K Schauf

That would be and early thirties King Voll True II. Those are bit dodgy on the intonation, but arent to bad. They arent worth to much though, unless the engraving is super extensive and like way more than they would normally have

So this would fall more into a student or basic model as opposed to a professional? K

No it was a pro model in its day, but It wont be up to the standards of to many pros these days. It wont be good for students learning either with its intonation. A player can play the horn though, the old King horns had a GREAT sound. With work, it can play fairly well in tune too.

I know that decent is a subjective term, but if the instrument looks and plays decent , what would an appropriate price range be? K

if it looks and plays decent, probably worth around a grand tops to a collector, but the market value is gonna be around 500 or so for those. sorry, but the demand isnt there for them like the horns that came after that
