SELMER Mark VI - Silver Plate (Serial Number: 142863) Back to model

This is a terrific vintage Selmer Paris Mark VI tenor saxophone, serial number 142863. Notice the Mark VI stamp running vertical up the back side of the body tube. This was a stamp from the Paris factory that can only be found on the short run of saxes from140xxx-143xxx.
A big full resonant warm sound, it has an extremely fast response to air flow while giving the ideal amount of positive resistance to push against. The overall sonic color is on the dark side but it is certainly not lacking anything in projection or overall power. Its action feels great under the finger as you would expect from any Selmer. This horn was set up in the Saxquest shop by Chris Funck in 2012.
The original silver finish on the body is in fantastic shape with very clear and defined Euro engraving. Its body tube, bell flare and original neck are all in great shape.
