This is a beautiful 98% original lacquer "The Martin Tenor" saxophone made in Elkhart Indiana, serial number 153654. This tenor has many great features that give it exceptional sonic and physical characteristics. The Martin tapered toneholes are soldered on giving extra durability and response. The right thumbhook is adjustable for comfort. The neck has matching serial number stamped and has the Martin outward tightening screw. It is in perfect physical condition with nearly all of its original lacquer.
All of the pads are brand new and have brown plastic resonators. The set up is excellent with light key action that is very fast. This horn is in top playing form.
The physical condition is excellent. There are NO dents and NO resoldered joints anywhere on the tenor. There are no chair dings or any signs of previous dentwork. The horn is physically perfect.
These saxes are in our opinion the most under rated of any vintage horn. The sound is exceptional and can hang with any other sax in terms of sound quality and production. These Martins are very free blowing and can knock down walls, or subtone at PPP.
Also shown here is its original Martin wooden case with latches. It is in good practical condition.
