C.G. CONN Gold Plate 26M (Serial Number: 269930) Back to model

This horn is so rare that it is the first one that we have ever seen!! It is a Conn original gold plate "Conqueror" 26M. This is hands down, The VERY BEST of the Conn saxophones.

The sound, craftsmanship, keywork and feel are of the highest level. The ornate naked lady engraving, silver touch pieces, deluxe rollers, burnished gold plate and additional adjustment pieces put this one far above the rest.

The condition of this alto is excellent. There are NO dents and NO previous dent repairs of any kind. There is only plating wear from honest playing time on the back of the bodytube and on the bell. There are a couple of resoldered joints: one foot of the low C and Eb keyguards, the thumbrest, and the octave pip on the bodytube. The work was done very cleanly and does not take from the integrity of this beautiful intstrument.

This is an exceptional instrument that has the quick response and especially warm sound that gold plating offers. The neck is the original with the double sleeve socket and tuner neck. It has some plating wear on either side, but is still a solid 90+%. It is in perfect physical condition.

The horn is photographed in the original case which is in excellent condition with some leather loss around the edges on the outside.
