The "Master Link" was the first mouthpiece manufactured by Otto Link.  The mouthpieces generally only came in smaller tip openings, but had very large chambers.  The mouthpieces also had a ridge on the sides and underneath the table for the ligature to slide in, much like Lawton mouthpieces have.  The early "Master Links" are fairly good mouthpieces, but for the time they were something completely new, different and inventive. 

Charecteristics of Master Link:

• Master Link NY Mouthpiece stamped on bottom of barrel
• Otto Link & Co. New York stamped around bottom of shank
• Serial number to the right of table
• Facing number to the left of table
• Black bite plate across beak
